OpenBase is pleased to announce a series of new sessions at this year's Summit conference, devoted to building applications for Apple's iPhone. The Summit 2007 conference takes place in October 7-11, 2007 in Vail, Colorado. Please see the Summit 2007 website for details.

750. Introduction to Ruby on Rails

This session provides everything you need to get started with Ruby on Rails (RoR) programming for database applications. Included are: creating a new project and detailed explanations of RoR directory hierarchy, models, views, controllers, database migrations and model associations. A working contact manager will also be developed as an example.

751. Using Ruby on Rails with AJAX

This session adds AJAX and RJS style sheet functionality to the contact manager created in Introduction to Ruby on Rails (RoR). AJAX is a technology for creating interactive web applications that give users a "desktop-like" experience because they do not require refreshes for each click. By the end of this session you will be able to build AJAX based applications with Ruby on Rails for use with the iPhone.
